After toying with a few ideas for songs I decided to cover Daniel Johnston’s “True Love Will Find You In The End”: Over the lockdown period I rewatched The Devil and Daniel Johnston, a fantastic documentary about him. Unfortunately Daniel died last year, but rewatching the documentary reminded me of what a unique and talented artist he was. I think that the rawness of “True Love Will Find You In The End” perfectly encapsulates the appeal of both Daniel’s music and his character. Although I know that it would be impossible to replicate the beautiful simplicity and honesty of the song, I hope that my interpretation does Daniel’s artistry some justice. I think that the sentiment of hanging in there when you’re feeling low is something that might be particularly poignant to people at the moment.

These are tough times for everyone, but especially for those who are most vulnerable - helping each other has never been more important.
