about

As soon as I was invited to make a track for this project I immediately knew I was going to do a remix/mash-up of Ed Rush and Opticals late 90s seminal Drum and Bass track Bacteria, released on Virus records. I wanted to use the Prodigy’s “poison” sample to highlight both the toxic nature of lockdown and social isolation aswell as the hunt for the Covid remedy. The female vocal sample “it is the distance that makes life a little hard” was taken from Olive’s track “your not alone”. Not only is it a beautifully haunting vocal but it perfectly highlights that it’s not only the deadly “affect” of the virus but that staying away from friends and family that has led to the toxic nature and frustration of Covid 19.

I’m hoping the main drop can be enjoyed loud and serve as a reminder that we will all be back out and partying together soon.
